Krakow, history carved in stone

Krakow, the old capital of Poland exhuda history for all the pores of its buildings. The atmosphere of history can breathe in its streets and in its plazas. Krakow is converted thus in its art and its architecture in a patrimony of the history and of the humanity. The old helmet of this city has been declared for United Nations place protected of the Universal History.



The city is found located in a solid rocky one since where can be seen the river Vístula. Besides the city they are found impregnated of the Polish heroes that lived in her. The boss of the country, Estanislao was murdered in the city by the king Boleslav the Bald one in the 11th century and is found resting in a silver tomb in the cathedral of Wawel. In the same cathedral we will be able to see remainders of some of the Polish kings that governed during the epoch in which Poland was a kingdom. The cathedral was built in the 11th century

It more noticeable of the city and its center is Rynek Glowny, that is a great very similar plaza to which we can find in Brussels or the plaza San Frameworks in Venice. In that plaza we will be able to see the hodgepodge that has the city: civic to take a walk, walking musicians, university students and groups of tourists are intermingled forming a coloristic landscape.

Also this city possesses the largest medieval market of Europe and we will be able to taste magnificent foods in the restaurant Wierzynek how toward old the nobility. This restaurant is the oldest one than continues functioning in Europe. It arose in the year 1364 thanks to the initiative of Mikolaj Wierzynek that was the responsible for preparing the banquet of anniversaries for the granddaughter of the cross-eyed King the Large one.
