Govern and the Baltic one

The Capital of Latvia, Govern, has approximately 800,000 inhabitants in the two edges of the rio Daugava with an extension of 15 kilometers. The city was founded in 1,201 by the German bishop Albert to whom the castle is owed that crown the city. The strategic position of this city has conformed as place of encounter between the east and the west, being also at present.

Doing a little history we can say that the life of Governing has been spectacular. From the 14th century to the XV was one of the most important cities deviajesdeeuropa21072008 the Hanseatic league in moments in which the north part of the province, of the same name that the capital, belonged to Sweden. In those times Govern was larger than Stockholm. One of the things to emphasize of this city is the beauty of its buildings. In its historic helmet we can see buildings that belong to the world heritage that prefaces the UNESCO.
