Scotland: Crucible of European north traditions (Splits 2)

We continue discovering the traditions of Scotland. In the edition past of this report we speak a little on one of its more characteristic instruments, the bagpipes. Nevertheless Scotland has another singularity as for musical instruments. It is a matter of the Clarsach or tears Celtic. It is important to mention that this very famous musical instrument during the Middle Ages, was considered at that time as one of the most prestigious instruments in said zone, and who they had the talent to touch it they were respected like large musicians who responded to baroque interpretations in important ceremonies for the English cut. They passed the century 17, the use of the Clarsach began to decay, and almost carries to the musical instrument to the extinction, nevertheless in the 20th century was taken up again again as a national symbol.

We find that also Scotland has certain customs as for the alimentary aspect. By their nature, the Scotch have a private preference in the healthy foods, as the delicious casseroles accompanied by potatos. And their national dish, the Haggis, based on roast of lamb, they serve it with oat and select spices, succulent for every visitor to the world cradle of the golf, always accompanied with the traditional and magnificent whisky. It fits here to stand out that the majority of their population consumes three times a day food, especially the youngest and people of advanced age. It can visit any house and will find quality in its plates, whenever its visit be negotiated previously, due to that one of its customs is also that.

The traditions also reach to the smallest, like the Hogmanay, where the infants are directed at the door of the neighbors to sing and to exclaim that name, which will have their reward in cakes of oat.

The religious commemorations are of great reception here, above all the last day of November, when they celebrate their more memorable saint, San Andrés, where the majority of their devout they carry a white and blue cross that represents their crucifixion by Rome. Already it knows it, Scotland is a pleasant and welcoming place, that should discover to as give place. Besides the Monster of the Lake Ness, also that cultural tourism offers us that so much well cultural does to the contemporary companies.
